LIMITS OF CONSTRUCTIVISM

1) Constructivism successful teaching practices within the classroom. But Because of so many versions of constructivism and its overlap measures differences, difficult to see the forest for the tree. How exactly we are supposed to implement constructivism in the educational setting in the most confident way is a big task.

2) Constructivist teaching practices in the wrong hands leads to a kind of teaching that can be very disorganized and detrimental to students.

3) Less preparation from the teachers makes teaching the potential to be fragmented and inconsistent as a result diagnosis of individual needs and interests will vary.

4 ) Educator who implements constructivist teaching method in their classroom active learning & learns socially become problematic for a certain student with disabilities who are included in the classroom setting.

5)Student are expected  to work through problems with little or no guidance from the teacher, instead of being taught new rules and ideas the learner is allowed to  discover this concept.

Constructivism strongly believes that education is about using knowledge to construct new knowledge rather than gaining and passing information. Knowledge is individual and socially constructed by learners based on their interpretations of experiences in the world. Knowledge is an interconnection among ideas. Learn in constructivism by learners’ own construction.

     Constructivism is a theory  of learning in which the learners are provided the opportunity to construct their own sense about  what is being learned  by building the connection through experiencing things and reflecting on those experiences. This theory is the response to the behaviorism theory that tends to focus in teachers centered while constructivism stresses in students’ centered. In constructivism theory, the students are active in the classroom. The role of teacher is as the facilitator. The way the teacher guides the students can be conducted through questioning. By giving question, it can create the students to conduct the meaning of thing by them.

    The implementation of constructivism theory can be conducted in several learning such as discovery learning, case based learning, inquiry based learning, problem based learning, and project based learning. Discovery learning is an instructional method in which the students are free to work in learning environment with little or no guidance from the teacher. Inquiry based learning as the other of application of constructivism theory. It emphasizes to the role of the students as scientist or researcher who masters certain science.

Moreover, constructivism promotes social and communication skills by creating a classroom environment that emphasizes collaboration and exchange of ideas.
